The Junior American Citizens Committee (JAC) sponsors contests in art, creative expression, and community service with a focus on American history. This contest is open to all children, from preschoolers through grade 12.
Entries are judged without regard to their age or grade. A winner will be chosen at each level, and the winners will then be judged by the Oregon State Society, DAR. And finally, NSDAR will judge the Junior American Citizens Award winners and present them with their awards. To enter, a child does not need to belong to a club, nor do their parents or guardians need to be members of DAR. A chapter tea is held to award the winners and work towards promoting educational goals and for the Junior American Citizens Award. |
